I jumped into the world of social media marketing for the iGrowthful website. And generated almost a thousand visitors using just one formula, which is a great milestone for a new website.
And after doing SMM, I received,
- 1,100 visitors
- 2,700 pageviews
- 3m and 18s average time
Here’s the data from Google Analytics:
That was all from a simple social marketing strategy.
Let’s dive into the details,
About Social Media Marketing
SMM is the use of social platforms to promote a product, service, website, or brand. The goal is to reach and engage with audiences to build awareness, drive traffic, and ultimately increase sales.
Social media marketing can include a variety of tactics, such as creating engaging posts like us, sharing images or videos, running paid ads, and interacting directly with followers and fans.
Step 1: Social Media Hook
To grab people’s attention in social media world, you need a hook. It’s like a catchy pick-up line but for posts. It’s that captivating line that makes someone stop scrolling and say, whoa, what’s this.
My hook focused on 3 things:
- Result: People love results. It builds trust right away.
- Numbers: Specific numbers make it feel real, like, oh, this actually happened.
- Promise: Promise to share how I achieved this, which build anticipation.
Take a look at this X (Twitter) post example.
I simply used the hook by mentioning how I achieved 21 backlinks from Wikipedia.
That got people curious.
And guess what?
That one post gave me,
- 210 likes or love
- 20 reposts
That’s crazy, right?
Step 2: Repurpose for Threads
With Threads being the cool new spot in town, I decided to share the same post on Threads.
And it worked.
Here’s how it played out:
Not as massive as X, but it still added up.
People responded well because, once again, the hook and numbers caught their attention.
Not only in Threads.
Try to share your posts on X, Threads, Facebook, Pinterest, etc. social media platforms.
Step 3: Promise Fulfilled
Here’s where the magic really happened.
After getting people’s attention, I did what I promised.
Means, I shared my full strategy in a follow-up post. People loved that I wasn’t just all talk but actually delivered the goods. Plus, I included my website post, which brought in traffic.
For X:
For Threads:
I followed the same steps on both X and Threads:
- Shared my result (the hook).
- Provided value with the full post (detailing the strategy).
- Included a website post link.
That is the 3 parts formula,
- Hook
- Value
- Link
The Results
After my mini social media blitz, I checked my Google Analytics.
Here’s how the traffic came together:
- Social: 566 sessions
- Direct: 543 sessions
- Referral: 281 sessions
- Search: 83 sessions
- Other: 3 sessions
Total?
1,480 sessions from this simple strategy.
