LinkedIn is a place where people pretend to love Mondays, post weirdly motivational quotes, and share work updates that somehow always involve an excessive number of emojis.
But you know what?
Beyond the corporate things, LinkedIn is awesome for driving traffic. Even, many social media marketers are driving millions of traffic to their sites by following this method.
How do I know?
Because I did it.
Not too long ago, I got 886 LinkedIn traffic in just one month to my affiliate marketing website for free. I didn’t spend a single cent. And today, I am going to share exactly how I did it.
By the way, let’s get started.
The Backstory
A while back, I wrote a blog post about Yoast SEO Tips (for example). At the time, my article did well. I got decent traffic, people were sharing it, and I was pretty happy with myself.
But then I thought, wait a second.
This awesome article still has legs. Thousands, heck, maybe MILLIONS (a marketer can dream, okay?) of people could benefit from these tips. But they hadn’t seen it yet.
What’s the point of creating great content if no one sees it?
It is like making a Michelin-star meal and then leaving it in the fridge.
Not cool.
So, I decided to take my content to LinkedIn.
Why LinkedIn Social Media
LinkedIn social media platform is not just a platform for job hunters or recruiters. It is a goldmine for content creators, business owners, and marketers like you and me.
Overall, it is one of the most effective social media marketing techniques.
People go to LinkedIn to:
- Learn new skills
- Network with others in their industry
- Discover tools, tips, and strategies that help them grow
In short, people on LinkedIn are hungry for quality content and they are willing to give it their attention. So, instead of trying to reinvent the wheel, I republished my content on LinkedIn.
Like this one:
And let me tell you, it worked like magic.
Step 1: Find Your Best-Performing Content
This method works best with content that’s already proven to be valuable.
So, go to your website and ask yourself:
- What content gets the most traffic?
- Which blog posts are getting shares, comments, or engagement?
- What’s solving a real problem for my audience?
You can also get the most popular articles from Google Analytics.
If you have a blog post that’s already doing well, BINGO, that’s the one.
Step 2: Republish Your Content for LinkedIn Traffic
Now, I know what you’re thinking.
Wait, you just copy-pasted your blog post on LinkedIn?
Well, but not exactly.
Here’s the trick:
- Take the key points from your blog post.
- Break them into smaller, easy-to-digest paragraphs.
- Add a snappy opening line to hook people in.
- Throw in a few bullet points and bolded text to make it easy to skim.
- Add a CTA at the end, like a link to read the full blog post on your website.
Step 3: Post It at the Right Time
Timing matters on LinkedIn.
People are most active:
- Early mornings (7 AM – 9 AM)
- Lunchtime (12 PM – 1 PM)
- Late afternoons (4 PM – 6 PM)
Experiment and see what works for your audience, but I have found that posting early in the day gets the most engagement.
Once you hit Post, LinkedIn’s algorithm will start showing your content to people in your network. If it gets enough engagement (likes, comments, shares), it will reach even more people.
And here’s the beautiful part, every single one of those people has the potential to click your link and visit your website.
Results
After republishing my content on LinkedIn, here’s what I got:
1. More Traffic to My Website
886 visitors, to be exact.
That’s nearly 1,000 people who might never have seen my content otherwise.
And it didn’t cost me a penny.
2. Nofollow Link from LinkedIn
Sure, it is a nofollow link.
But it’s still a solid link from a high-authority platform.
3. More Visibility on Social Media
The post got a lot of engagements.
People liked it, shared it, and even commented to say how helpful the tips were. It helped me take a piece of content that was gathering dust and put it in front of an entirely new audience.
Key Takeaway
You don’t need to create new content every single day. Instead, take the content you already have and reuse it for LinkedIn (or for other social media such as X, Facebook, Threads, etc.).
It is a simple, free LinkedIn traffic strategy that works.
If you can:
- Find your best-performing content.
- Republish it in a LinkedIn-friendly format.
- Post it at the right time.
You’ll be surprised by how much traffic you can get.
So, give it a try.
And if it works?
Well, you can always post about it on LinkedIn social media.
